Pontlliw Primary School cooking class at Rasoi Indian Kitchen

As part of our local community outreach, we were recently visited by the lovely pupils from Pontlliw Primary School.

We invited the Year 6 children to Rasoi Indian Kitchen in Pontlliw to learn some exciting tips and tricks from our expert chefs and have a go at cooking some authentic Punjabi dishes.

Cooking Challenges

The children’s competitive side really came out when they took part in our ‘Naan Off’. They were invited to have a go at making their own coconut naans and keema naans, in an effort to win the best naan which would be judged by our chefs.

The pupils also had a great time whipping up some famous Indian yoghurt-based beverages, ready to taste test with their very own naans.

Our expert chef got his judging hat on and went on to award the best naan and best lassi creators with their very own trophies. Medals were also awarded for 2nd and 3rd place.

The whole class got involved with some healthy competition as they also judged each other’s naans and yoghurt drinks.

The children couldn’t wait to dig into their delicious dishes after the judging was complete.

The children of Pontlliw Primary School had lots of fun learning all about Indian cuisine and culture here at Rasoi Indian Kitchen. We hope to see them return in the future!
