How Rasoi Celebrates Punjabi Food Traditions

Punjabi culture is one of the oldest and richest cultures in the world.

Love and enthusiasm for food, music, drinks, and life itself make Punjabis the most loved and unique people across the world.

Here at Rasoi, Punjabi food and culture is at the heart of our restaurants. Take a look at how we incorporate Punjabi culture into Rasoi every day…

People and Family

The welcoming and loving Punjabi environment is instantly created by the name ‘Rasoi’, which translates to ‘kitchen’ in English. A kitchen is seen as a bonding area that not only ties your home and culture together, but also your loved ones.

This was our first initial way of celebrating Punjabi culture, as we wanted to make Rasoi a go-to place for Punjabi people to feel at home.

Punjabi Cuisine

Traditionally, Punjabi cuisine is known for its rich, buttery flavours along with extensive vegetarian and meat dishes. Ingredients commonly found in Punjabi food include dairy products such as ghee, butter and cream, grains, and pulses such as lentils, and other ingredients like potatoes, vegetables and meat products.

To celebrate traditional flavoursome Punjabi cuisine, we offer dishes such as our tandoori sharing platter, butter chicken or our Punjabi shahi paneer. The perfect way to delve into the vibrant flavours of Punjabi cuisine.

Punjabi Traditions

Punjabis are typically very family orientated and celebrate their love and affection by eating in large groups.

We offer a full catering service at any venue or location of your choosing. Rasoi Catering provide everything from a buffet to a lavish sit-down meal to our amazing street food carts. For more details about this you can visit our catering website on the link below.
