A look back at our 2022…

What a wonderful year we’ve had at Rasoi Indian Kitchen and Rasoi Waterfront!

This year we’ve introduced our unmistakable Punjabi cuisine to even more people across south Wales and expanded our popular menu offering even further!

Our mission in 2022 has been to get everyone excited about Punjabi cuisine and make Rasoi the place to be – and we think we’ve done just that!

Here’s a look back at some of our highlights from this year …

Bottomless Brunch launch

Earlier this year we launched our very own Bottomless Brunch at Rasoi Waterfront restaurant.

Our Bottomless Brunch, which runs on Saturdays from 12pm to 3pm, has proved to be a huge hit with customers new and old!

This popular new addition to our weekends lets customers enjoy unlimited selected drinks for two hours along with any dish from our brunch menu, with the choice to add on as many extras as they want.

We’ve loved welcoming all our customers to our 2022 Bottomless Brunches and we look forward to seeing even more of you next year!

Movie catering

Earlier this year we were excited to be asked to cater for the cast and crew of an inspirational film being created right here in Wales.

Jungle Cry tells the story of 12 underprivileged and orphaned children from India, who travel to the UK for an international junior rugby tournament. While this was being filmed here, we were chosen to provide our beloved Punjabi cuisine for the whole set for over a month!

We were honoured to have supported this fantastic film and we’d like to congratulate the cast and crew and thank them for choosing us.

Indian Cooking Class for schools

We were delighted to welcome two schools to our restaurants to give the pupils a masterclass in Punjabi cooking.

Pupils from Craigfelen Primary School in Clydach joined us at our Waterfront venue in June, while pupils from Pontlliw Primary School joined us at Rasoi Indian Kitchen in May.

During their visit to us, the pupils learned how to create our mouthwatering Naan breads, with a choice to make theirs plain, with cheese, peshwari or garlic. They also got the chance to make traditional yoghurt-based Lassi drinks, popular in Indian cuisine.

Our head chef then chose the best of the best and awarded first second and third place to the winning pupils with the best Lassi and Naan.

We were thrilled to open up our kitchen to a new generation of potential chefs and to teach the children all about how we create our popular dishes.

Swansea Bay Pop Up

We were thrilled to be a part of the Swansea Bay Pop Up event at Singleton Park this year.

During this popular summer event we got the chance to introduce even more people to a range of our freshly prepared Punjabi dishes, which went down extremely well!

It was another amazing event where we saw so many of our fantastic customers in this lovely setting, and welcome lots of new customers too.

Thanks to all those who enjoyed our dishes in the sunshine this summer!

Quadrant student night

One of our favourite nights of the year in Swansea is student night, and this year we were excited to be part of the Quadrant’s celebrations!

As the city’s latest students explored the shopping centre, we were on hand to offer up our popular Punjabi dishes from our very own Tuk Tuk.

During the night students took a break from picking up bargains at the Quadrant to tuck into some of our traditional dishes and sides, and also enjoyed some exclusive Rasoi discounts too.

The evening was a hit with all the students we spoke to, the turnout was amazing and we can’t wait to welcome them to Rasoi in 2023!

High Chai Afternoon Tea launch

In October we launched our very own afternoon tea with a Punjabi twist at Rasoi Waterfront restaurant.

Our High Chai Afternoon Tea includes freshly made chicken tikka and channa sandwiches, aloo tikka with tamarind chutney, and onion bhajis. This is then followed by our sweet treats of gulab jamun, gajar ka cake, shots of mango lassi and scones, accompanied by Indian masala chai tea.

These have proved to be popular with our customers, with prices starting from just £28 for two, or £35 for two with a glass of prosecco.

Everyone Deserves a Christmas Appeal

It has been our privilege this month to support the Everyone Deserves a Christmas Appeal.

This amazing appeal provides up to 1,000 hampers to people in need across Swansea during the festive season, providing them with essential food items and other goods.

We provided our Punjabi cuisine to all the amazing volunteers packing the hampers for families across Swansea, and then helped deliver the hampers using our Tuk Tuk.

We’d like to thank all those involved for letting us be a part of this incredible campaign which makes such a difference to local people.

Thanks to everyone who joined us at Rasoi Indian Kitchen and Rasoi Waterfront restaurant this year. We have loved serving every one of you and we look forward to welcoming you in 2023!
